I remember reading about this way back when. "In 1958, the Fugate family was discovered when one of the blue men, Luke Combs, took his wife to the University of Kentucky Hospital. Luke was apparently much more interesting to the doctors than his wife was." http://www.theblaze.com/stories/mystery-solved-blue-faced-appalachian-family-caused-by-rare-medical-condition/Smurf-Americans

Water is an interesting substance. It expands before it turns to a solid and it can go from a solid to a gas or gas to a solid and skip the liquid stage. It has other unique properties too.

I saw the article about the 27 pound lobster! WOW!
Today, 22 and snowing. By Sunday it is suppose to reach 70 degrees!
Going to the Garden of the Gods tomorrow - and then some special little place Kristina loves that she says has the best buffalo burgers in Colorado. We'll see if it matches up to the Buffalo Burgers that the Seminoles in Oklahoma make!

"If you consider that there has been an average of 160,000 troops in the Iraq theater of operations during the past 22 months, and a total of 2112 deaths, that gives a firearm death rate of 60 per 100,000 soldiers. The firearm death rate in Washington, DC is 80.6 per 100,000 for the same period. That means you are about 25 per cent more likely to be shot and killed in the U.S. capital, which has some of the strictest gun control laws in the U.S., than you are in Iraq."
Conclusion: The U.S. should pull out of Washington .

By the way, I got some hooks on the boat I'd like to see removed by these two! I have some they wouldn't want to try that on. Like 8" long and 5/16" shaft. They are just wimps, just yank the dang thing out. Besides, most flies use barbless hooks.

Apparently RB is having some difficulty finding something insulting or disparaging about the President and/or his family at this time but rest assured that he will come up with something denigrating or demeaning that borders on a racist remark. His hatred and anger toward the President seems to be an obsession with him and if anyone goes back and peruses his postings about Obama, this is very clear. This is a good site with some good intelligent and informative info, but shouldn't be a venue for some radical to blast our President. Yes I'm aware of the first amendment but Im also aware of how it is abused by some..............

If he's got something up his sleeve against the President, that's his right to do so.
If he's got something up his sleeve that's racist, that's definitely not OK here.
We're in a unique situation right now where anyone who criticizes President Obama opens themselves up to charges of racism. What this is going to do is convince many NON- prejudicial people to never again vote for any minority.
It seems we can only criticize white males, so that's who they will vote for. Personally, I don't think President Obama is an asset to this country. Make him a white male (or female) and nothing about my opinion changes.

Apparently RB is having some difficulty finding something insulting or disparaging about the President and/or his family No, that would not be hard at all. And his kids don't even enter into it. It's the 'left' that drags the people's kids into the picture. His hatred and anger toward the President seems to be an obsession with him and if anyone goes back and peruses his postings about Obama, this is very clear. Have you looked at my posting about other politicians? Didn't think so. But if you did, I'm flattered. I have to chuckle when someone says stuff like that after you guys sought out and even fabricated things about Bush. anger toward the President I have anger toward anyone that does anything detrimental toward our country. some radical If believing in the constitution is radical, then that's me. Racist? Hardly. I was rooting for Mr. Cain. Thought Condy would have made a good VP. Did you vote for him because you thought he was right for the job, or you would feel guilty if you didn't? I have to say, McCain wasn't much of a choice ether. So tell me, did you get upset when they said disparaging things about Bush, or any other Republican? Didn't think so. I do enjoy your post, I like anything that makes me stop and think about things. BTW, look at the jacket, now that's funny for any public figure.

You mean this article?
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and its Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) have made a purchase that is making a lot of people very nervous. Recently they put in for a “indefinite delivery” of an “indefinite quantity” of .40 caliber ammunition from defense contractor ATK. The two agencies will receive a maximum of 450 million rounds over the next 5 years.
“We are proud to extend our track record as the prime supplier of .40 caliber duty ammunition for DHS, ICE,” said Ron Johnson, President of ATK’s Security and Sporting group. “The HST is a proven design that will continue to serve those who keep our borders safe.” ATK will produce the ammunition at the Federal Cartridge Company facility in Anoka, Minn. Deliveries are expected to begin in June.
This does have some people worried. At conservative blog Political-Conservatives.Blogspot.com they mused this:
“In the past couple weeks, we have written here about our concerns that there will be no election and that we do not understand the press and the threats of riots if the killer of Trayvon Martin is not arrested. Add on top of that the tweet-gate of Roseanne Barr and Spike Lee and one has to wonder what is going to happen next.”
A commenternamed “Brian” on Truthaboutguns.com had this to say:
“Thats 50 rounds per estimated armed agent per month. I am not obligated to train and I shoot more than that in a month.”
Brian has the best and most logical point. It is the agents job to be prepared, and the vast majority do not like to wait to shoot a gun until it is qualifying time, so they stay sharp and practice as often as they can.

Wonder how much they (WE) are paying for this, per round. If I bought this much ammo I'd want a decent discount. But I'll need someone more knowledgeable to tell me what a fair price is. Compared to say, $650 hammers.

Robert Biggs of Paradise, California has some favorite hiking spots. One that he frequents is in the Bean Soup Flat area above Whiskey Flats. On numerous occasions on these hikes he has seen a mother bear with her cubs at different times of year and different ages. All of the occasions have been friendly.
On Monday he came upon the bear with a cub and a yearling. He watched them for awhile, and then he was ready to turn around on the trail to leave the bear family alone. Suddenly from behind a mountain lion attacked him. The mountain lion stuck its paws into Bigg's backpack, luckily missing Bigg's head.
Biggs believes the mountain lion was stalking the cub, and then went for Biggs instead. Biggs wrestled with the lion, at one point striking it with a rock pick. Then the mother bear charged the mountain lion, making it lose its grip on Bigg's backpack. The bear and lion fought for a little while, then the lion ran off and the bear and her family went off as well.
Biggs suffered some puncture wounds and bruising to his arms, but was able to walk away from two wild animals that could've easily turned him into breakfast. From ParadisePost.com.

Got this in an email. Something to think about.
A sick man turned to his doctor as he was preparing to
Leave the examination room and said,
'Doctor, I am afraid to die.
Tell me what lies on the other side..'
Very quietly, the doctor said, 'I don't know..'
'You don't know? You're, a Christian man, and don't know what's on the other side?'
The doctor was holding the handle of the door; On the other side came a sound of scratching and whining,
And as he opened the door, a dog sprang into the room
And leaped on him with an eager show of gladness.
Turning to the patient, the doctor said,
'Did you notice my dog?
He's never been in this room before.
He didn't know what was inside..
He knew nothing except that his master was here,
And when the door opened, he sprang in without fear.
I know little of what is on the other side of death,
But I do know one thing...
I know my Master is there and that is enough.'

I tried normal once. I got bored. So I stopped doing it.

Naaa-naaa ni-naa-naa Told ya so! Can a decade of dark chocolate protect your heart?
(Reuters) - A scientific study likely to stir the souls of chocoholics has suggested that eating dark chocolate every day for 10 years could reduce the likelihood of heart attacks and strokes in some high-risk patients.

Found a cool pond. 13 miles from here. About 3/4 to a mile long. Called Gibson Pond. Seems to get a lot of use on weekends, I'll go back during the week. http://s125.photobucket.com/albums/p47/KE4MIV/Gibson%20Pond/It was cool to see a lot of guys fishing with their little kids. I don't know yet what kind of fish are there, probably Brim and Bass. I'll be taking more pictures on my next visit. And wet a feather.
